8 Days Amboseli, Lake Nakuru & Maasai Mara Lodge Safari

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, met by our friendly staff. Your luggage will then be loaded onto your safari minivan and you will be driven, by our professional safari driver/guides to Intercontinental Hotel for check in. This 5 star hotel is right in the city center and neighbors the Kenya Parliament, Uhuru Park, The Kenyatta International Conference Centre. This hotel has several restaurants. The hotel has a heated swimming pool, casino, a fully equipped health club and business centre amongst other facilities. Overnight at Hotel Intercontinental on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: 0700hrs Buffet breakfast at the hotel. 0800hrs Depart and drive to Amboseli National Park. The drive takes you through the Maasai land to Amboseli National Park which nestles at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Arrive at the lodge, welcome drink and check in. 1300hrs Buffet lunch at Amboseli Serena lodge. 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the Park. Animals found in this Park includes, giraffe, zebra, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest amongst others. 1830hrs Return to the lodge. 1930hrs Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena lodge.

Day 3: 0630hrs Early morning game viewing drive in the Park with Mount Kilimanjaro in the back ground. 0830hrs Return to the lodge for buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure to relax by the pool. 1230hrs Buffet lunch at the lodge 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the Park. 1830hrs Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Early breakfast at the lodge. 0730hrs Depart and drive via Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at the park, and have a game drive en-route to the Lake Nakuru Lodge. Lake Nakuru is one of the alkaline Rift Valley lakes and a fantastic bird sanctuary, its shores populated at times by more than one million flamingoes. The famous ornithologist Roger Tory Peterson defined it as “the greatest bird spectacle on earth”. The fortunate sentence has now become a cliché and is used up to fed-up-ism for promotional purposes. 1300hrs Lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the park. This National Park is world renowned for its population of flamingos which number thousands upon thousands. Other wild animals found in this park include the Rhino, Lion, Cheetah and the most elusive of the cats, the Leopard. 1930 hrs Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru lodge

Day 5: 0630hrs Early morning game viewing drive in the Park. 0830hrs Return to the lodge for buffet breakfast. Morning at leisure to relax by the pool. 1230hrs Buffet lunch at the lodge. 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the Park. 1830hrs Return to the lodge. 1930hrs Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru lodge.

Day 6: 0700hrs Buffet breakfast at the lodge. 0800hrs Departure and drive to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s finest and best known game reserve. 1230hrs Buffet lunch at Mara Sopa lodge. The Maasai Mara Sopa Lodge is a first class lodge built in African architecture and with a lovely swimming pool and other amenities. 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the Reserve. The greatest attraction in the Mara is watching the animals in their natural element; a lion’s roar, a cheetah making a kill, a leopard with it’s kill high up on a tree, and the big elephant herds mingling freely with other plains game are all very fascinating events. There are very high chances of seeing all the ‘big five’. This is the traditional land of the Maasai people, nomadic herders who choose a traditional lifestyle and who are permitted to graze their cattle in the area. A proud and largely aloof tribe who have held on to their customs and traditions for hundreds of . The park’s habitats include the forests along the banks of the Mara and Talek Rivers, acacia forests and open savannah. 1830hrs Return to the lodge 1930hrs Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7: 0630hrs Early morning game viewing drive in the rolling hills, woodlands and rivers that make up the Mara in search of more game. The animals are more active at this time of the day. 0830hrs Return to the lodge for breakfast. Morning at leisure to relax by the pool. 1230hrs Buffet lunch at the lodge. 1600hrs Afternoon game viewing drive in the reserve in search of more wildlife. 1830hrs Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: 0700hrs Breakfast at the lodge. 0800hrs Depart and drive to Nairobi.

This drive takes you through the floor of the Great Rift Valley and past the escarpment where your driver guide will stop at strategic viewpoint for photography.

Upon arrival into Nairobi, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure flight OR enjoy a stay at the coastal beaches of Mombasa at an extra cost.
